Inventory, Valuation, and Appraisal
Whether you are downsizing, moving, distributing, insuring, or donating your collections, you need an inventory before making major decisions. We will photograph, measure, list, and establish values and provide you with digital or hard-copy documentation. We will also advise you on what to keep or pass down, and what to sell or donate. We conduct up-to-the-minute research using specialized art indices to determine the correct value of each of your treasures.
If an inventory reveals that your collection includes valuable art, decorative arts, or jewelry, you should obtain an appraisal for each item or collection of like items for insurance, damage or loss, estate tax, and estate planning purposes. For an appraisal to be recognized as valid by most insurance companies and by the IRS, it must be conducted and certified by an appraiser who has passed the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) exam.
